November 1st Soccer Tournament – Celebrating Unity and Heritage

The Algerian American Community Association (AACA), in collaboration with the Embassy of Algeria in the United States, proudly organized the November 1st Soccer Tournament in the Washington, D.C. area to commemorate Algeria’s Revolution Day (November 1, 1954).

This special community event brought together members of the Algerian diaspora from across the region, creating a day filled with sportsmanship, unity, and national pride. Friends, families, and youth gathered to celebrate their heritage while enjoying competitive and friendly soccer matches.

The event was honored by the presence of Ambassador Sabri Boukadoum, who joined the community and even participated in the final match, demonstrating the strong connection between Algeria and its citizens abroad.

Following the tournament final, participants and guests gathered for a community cookout and celebration, providing an opportunity for the Algerian community to connect, celebrate, and honor the historical significance of November 1st.

The AACA extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers, participants, and community members who contributed to the success of this event, as well as to our partners and sponsors for their continued support.

Together, we celebrate heritage, unity, and the enduring spirit of Algeria — even thousands of miles from home.
